StoryStruck to present at nonprofit professionals conference: Know Your Audience

StoryStruck Marketing is pleased to announce that CEO Mackenzie Walters will present a workshop at the YNPN Des Moines Storytelling Conference on Friday, Oct. 28, at Grand View University in Des Moines.

“Know your audience: How segmenting your stakeholders can increase your donations” will share insight into how nonprofits can stop taking a blanket approach to telling their stories.

The presentation will focus on identifying the audience groups that are most likely to pick up and help carry the nonprofit’s mission through partnerships, volunteerism, or donations.

A former national award-winning journalist, Walters founded StoryStruck Marketing, which now specializes in customer segmentation strategy and consulting.

Based on her experience as a journalist, Walters strongly believes that the most powerful marketing tool a nonprofit has is its story.

Marketing and communication nonprofit professionals will benefit from the session, which will be interactive.

“There are so many powerful stories of the difference nonprofits make in our community. But if you aren’t tailoring your message to specific stakeholders — specifically to funders, partners, and volunteers — you may be leaving donations on the table,” the session description says.

Conference tickets are $60 and include a one-year membership to YNPN Des Moines. Register online at ynpndesmoines.org/2022-conference.

YNPN Des Moines is an official chapter of the national Young Nonprofit Professionals Network. YNPN promotes an efficient, viable, and inclusive nonprofit sector that supports the growth, learning, and development of young professionals. Learn more about YNPN Des Moines at ynpndesmoines.org/about.
